The Role
The Executive Committee is there to support the section leaders, so that they can do their role of supporting their section teams to provide a great programme for young people. Members of the Executive Committee take on the responsibilities of a charity trustee; they act collectively and in the interests of the members of Scouts locally:
- Ensure our charity is carrying out its purposes for the public benefit
- Comply with our charity’s governing document and the law
- Act in our charity’s best interests
- Ensure our charity is accountable
- Manage our charity’s resources responsibly
- Act with reasonable care and skill
